All singers in the group take turns singing lead and doing backup vocals.Over time, mariachi music expanded and became more popular, especially in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico.
    • Ranchera Music: Ranchera music is a type of traditional Mexican music and songs are usually about love, patriotism, or nature. Ranchera music dates back to the Mexican Revolution. Later, it became closely associated with the Mariachi bands which evolved in Jalisco. Today, ranchera music is played in nearly all Regional Mexican music styles. With roots in rural traditional folk music, ranchera music is a symbol of a new national consciousness in reaction to the aristocratic tastes of the period.

 

  • Pop Music and Rock en Español: Pop Music and Rock en Español is rock music that is composed and performed in Spanish. This genre has been successful worldwide, more recently even among non-Spanish-speaking countries.
