When you think of Mexico, do you think of polo? If you are lucky enough to live in Puerto Vallarta or in Riviera Nayarit, make sure to visit La Patrona Polo & Equestrian Club in San Pancho. Situated just north of Sayulita, La Patrona Polo & Equestrian Club is an amazing equestrian club whose goal is to train the next generation of competitive men and women polo players.  

Events, Classes and Competitions

Since October 2016, La Patrona Polo & Equestrian Club has hosted a variety of equestrian events and competitions for its members and the public. In addition, they offer multiple classes including riding, classical dressage, jumping, vaulting combined driving in each of their three meadows. Classes can be given to individuals or in a group setting, and all classes are tailored to the skill level and ability of each rider.  Starting at the most basic level for beginner riders, students learn the basics of horse discipline and how to direct and control your horse. Beginners also are taught the basics of obstacle jumping.

Advanced Rider Classes

For more advanced riders, there are classes that focus on specific disciplines such as jumping, dressage or polo. More focus is given to advanced riders on how to handle a variety of obstacles courses and how they can improve their course times. Classes generally last about one hour in length, and are offered to everyone from children as young as 6 years old up to adults. Horseback Rides – Beach, Jungle or Town

In addition to classes, The Equestrian Center also coordinates horseback rides along the beach, through the jungle or the town of San Pancho. These exciting horseback excursions are open to the entire public, and even those with no experience on a horse can take an excursion or choose to take a class beforehand.  What better way to enjoy the beautiful Riviera Nayarit from atop a beautiful horse? There is something truly magical about horseback ride on the beach, and the jungle will allow you to see the beautiful green vegetation up close and personal. San Pancho is quaint Mexican town with lots of charm and intrigue. A horseback ride through this sweet beach town is sure to please those individuals seeking a more authentic experience into local life.

Sunday Polo Brunch

Many fun events that the whole family can enjoy are regularly held are La Patrona Polo & Equestrian Club that are open to the public. For most Sundays from 11am to 4pm in the winter and spring, a Sunday Polo Brunch is held where visitors can enjoy a delicious brunch and mimosas while watching an exciting polo match. The Polo Club is typically closed for major events during the warm summer months between June and October.
